Personal skills

By Poul Langagergaard

When identifying personal competencies, you need to look at the end result of your services: What is the objective? Who has influence on the process? How? Where? When?

An outline of some of the necessary (or desirable) personal competencies will then begin to emerge. Read here and use it as inspiration.

When formulating personal competencies, practice formulating them in behavioural terms, such as:

  • Works well with other department members
  • Always keeps agreements
  • Good at building and maintaining network
  • Analytical and good at keeping a cool head

The process is otherwise the same as outlined for professional competencies.
